My daughter calls me a “one-time mum” meaning I only ask once. I’m straightforward, honest, and direct and I don’t deal with petty bullshit at home or in my business.
And I’m calling out to all the other fierce mums and business owners. I think it’s far past time that we flip the script on what it means to be women in business.
Let’s start a glorious revolution that’s gonna ripple through generations of badass women to come.

After running and managing several businesses over the years, I’ve learned how to fall down and get back up…
To help them reshape their businesses too! I help them strategically map out their businesses so that they too can have a framework that works perfectly for them and their families. So that they can be great business owners AND great mums.
I’m a business owner who has done stupid on steroids.
Now, I focus on bringing my knowledge to other mums & women in business…
2006-2007
Met my husband in Thailand and began “helping” (my husband still calls it interfering) in his kayaking business. Then after a trip back to NZ we ended up buying an overnight cruise business in the Bay of Islands New Zealand (www.rocktheboat.co.nz) where we lived aboard while we navigated the first year of business.

2008
Oh Hi GFC… nice to see you (not). We watched as many other businesses disappeared. We paid off a quarter of a million dollars in debt in that first 12 months… while paying 13% interest. Here is where I learned that working hard (really long hours) pays off (which continued to be my motto for some time).

2013-2017
Family purchased a restaurant, adding to the busy-ness! Having survived (barely) a summer with a team of 90 employees, I went looking for some new skills and tools to help me lead a team…which lead me to complete a 12 month coaching qualification. Then I built Sarah Greener Business Coaching as a side hustle. I had 10 paying customers & still ran 4 businesses - I started to feel like I was drowning.

Christmas Day 2017
We worked on Christmas instead of being with Scarlett. We decided never again - working really long hours did not pay off anymore. We began the journey of unraveling the last 10 years of building our monster of a business/s to get to a life we love.

2018-2019
We were deep in the process of exiting businesses that were not good fits for the future life we wanted and during this time Jonny also got diagnosed with severe osteoporosis. We sold Restaurants x 2, sold Ecommerce Site of Bay of Islands Booking and Information Centre, and decided to sell overnight cruise tourism business. Time to go full time in the coaching business.
Where I Am Now
2020
Covid Hit, business sales fell over, borders closed, 7 figures of sales disappeared in a flood of cancellations and refunds. But later that year the group programs in SGC launched and as the sales began I could see the light at the end of the tunnel - our coaching business helped support our tourism business and team through our darkest days.

Late 2020-Mid 2021
We were able to run our first cruise since the Pandemic began and generate our first cashflow. We retained all of our team. By mid-2021 we built the tourism business back to 50% of it’s pre-covid numbers.
Where I Am Now
July 2023
The Greener family spent a month in Hawaii - both the tourism business and the coaching business kept running while we resided elsewhere… Successful location freedom achieved!
